Don Chalo Cellars was born from a journey that began long before the first bottle was filled.

Our Story

In the 1970s, Don Chalo left Michoacán, Mexico, for the United States with little more than determination and an unwavering commitment to his family. He found work in the vineyards of Napa Valley, where long days of labor forged not only a livelihood, but a deep respect for the land and the quiet discipline required to cultivate it. What began as work became a way of life — one rooted in patience, humility, and pride in honest craftsmanship.

As the years passed, the lessons of the vineyard took hold in the next generation. Don Chalo’s children grew up alongside the vines, learning that wine is not simply made, but earned — through care, consistency, and reverence for the process. That shared respect for the land and its fruit became the foundation of a family legacy.

Founded in 2018, Don Chalo Cellars represents the continuation of that legacy. Here we produce limited-release, artisanal wines that reflect both the precision of modern winemaking and the soul of generations past.

Each bottle is a tribute — to the sacrifices that made it possible, to the land that sustains it, and to the belief that the most meaningful wines are those crafted with intention. From vineyard to glass, Don Chalo Cellars honors its roots while shaping a future defined by quality, authenticity, and enduring connection.

Our Mission

At Don Chalo Cellars, our mission is to produce wines of exceptional quality that foster connection, celebrate heritage, and honor the land from which they come.

We are committed to crafting small-lot, thoughtfully made wines that offer an authentic alternative to mass-market production — wines that invite people to slow down, gather, and experience something meaningful. Through integrity, craftsmanship, and respect for tradition, we strive to transform wine from a commodity into a shared experience rooted in story, place, and purpose.
